Sharif’s Spoon – auction now open until Monday 8am BST…

Tomorrow morning sees the end of this part of our campaign! 40 days of a crowdfunder! It seems like years ago now that we began this – so much has happened between then and now, and the day we passed our initial target seems so long ago.

Our eyes and minds are focused now on the Planning Inquiry, and we are up to our necks in the work of preparing for that. But, we wanted to finish this campaign with something a bit special…

Some of you have contacted us with offers of hand-crafted items for an auction to raise funds for Steward Wood – we may still do that in future, for who knows what will happen later this month, but once we passed our target, it seemed better to be grateful for what we had already achieved and the sum we had raised.

And so, until the end of the crowdfunder tomorrow morning, we’re inviting bids in a closed auction of this beautiful spoon that’s just been made by Sharif Adams, our resident spoon-maker and wood-turner. It’s a thing of beauty to be treasured.

To submit a bid, email us at with your offer – whoever has submitted the highest bid by 8 am BST tomorrow, 4th April, wins the spoon. We’ll email you a link to claim the perk tomorrow. Simple, no? We’re hoping that we’ll get a good price for the spoon, and of course, all the money goes into our campaign fund for the challenges ahead.

You can see more about what Sharif does here.

As ever, you can watch our film and read all about our project and the current situation over here at the crowdfunder page. For more about this part of the campaign to save our community and homes, read this blog post.

In the meantime, thank you again for your amazing support. We stand awed by the generosity and encouragement shown by people from our local area and all around the world. – together, we can make an amazing breakthrough for low-impact living in the UK!
